All trains are extended to Puri. But doubling of Delang-Puri section is not considered seriously. Why ?.

We should not push for more projects via RVNL. Given the experience of Angul-Sukinda Road, we have to think twice. It has become an instrument of hoodwinking us. All the doubling projects Cuttack-Barang, Rajathgarh-Barang, Khurda Barang 3rd line, Sambalpur-Titlagarh, Raipur-Titlagarh are facing unacceptable time and cost over runs. Doubling projects do not involve any land acquisition. Despite this 10 years for 12 kms! Simply they do not have money. Priority has shifted. They are busy in Kolkata Metro expansion projects. More than Rs6000 crore has been allocated (out of Rs20000 crore capital) in this year alone. Why they will break their head in raising money. Add to this are two Dankuni projects. They do not have time.
Angul- Sunkinda was sanctioned in 1997-98. In the same year, Abohar-Fazilka, Chandigarh-Ludhiana, Muzaffarpur-Sitamarhi, Etawah-Mainpuri projects(only a sample) were sanctioned. All these projects are either complete or targeted for completion this year. In case of Angul-Sukinda land acquisition has only started and physical progress is zero. The only difference is Angul- Sukinda is an economically viable project and hence handed over to RVNL and the other four are unviable projects and hence funded from the capital. Please do not advocate handing over projects to RVNL, at least in the current political environment. This deprives us our legitimate share of capital(budgetary support) provided by the central govt. to Indian Railways.
