Politely writing Sir K. K. Birla for a BITS Pilani campus in Orissa

Dear all:
BITS Pilani now has a campus in Pilani (North India), Goa (West India) and Dubai and is in the process of making a campus in Hyderabad (South India). There has been good progress with respect to the Hyderabad campus [Hindustan Times, Economic Times, New Kerala,Deccan Herald].
There has been some word that they may be thinking about a campus in Eastern India. Perhaps we should politely request Sir KK Birla about creating the Eastern India campus in Orissa.
The CM of Orissa wrote to Sir KK Birla last November/December and they don’t want to write to him so soon again. So may be we can write very politely and request him to consider Orissa. (I plan to post a draft letter in these pages in a few days.) Note that one of the articles about the Hyderabad campus mentions how Sir KK Birla was impressed that so many people requested him about the Hyderabad campus. The address to send letters is:

I came across this news and was independently thinking in similar lines. Birlas have been associated with Orissa for a long time from Brajarajnagar’s Orient Paper Mills, near Jharsugda.
Now they are also involved in Aluminum project in Hirakud and Kashipur.
I think it is very appropriate and worth it. I will wait for your cues but let us get done before 15th May. Because others might be doing the same.

I think it is a noble idea for setuping a Bits PIlani Campus in Orissa as soon as possible.so that students of Orissa will get better education and wide scope.already it is been in Hydrabad .so when orissa is looking forward for IT sector in bbsr so a brach of bits pilani should be there.

Its really a flabulous idea . Orissa is forseein a growth as never before . People here are know for there hard work and the only gap being is about Exposure /Technology/ Oportunity . We should join hands in bringing this beautiful dream of our CM true .

whats the big deal..as per the last 10 years we know that by utilising our money from western orissa govt will decorate a new location near bbsr amd it will be in bbsr…so how it will be benificial for orissa???it will serve only for bhubaneswar people and politicians…

BITS will be setting up a campus in Orissa and will start functioning in 2011.
