SUMMARY PROJECT REPORT 

THE MISSION:

Jagadguru Shri Kripaluji Maharaj

Eternally liberated Divine personalities sometimes descend upon the earth for the welfare of humankind. Jagadguru Shree Kripalu ji Maharaj is such a Divine personality. "Maharaj ji", as he is lovingly called by his devotees, was born on the auspicious night of Sharad Poornima in 1922, in the village Mangarh, near Allahabad.

In January 1957, Shree Kripalu ji Maharaj gave a profound series of lectures at the invitation of the Kashi Vidvat Parishad, a body of 500 of the topmost Vedic scholars of India who collectively represent the seat of spiritual learning.

Shree Maharaj ji spoke for ten days revealing the secrets of the Hindu scriptures. He reconciled the apparent contradictions between the various Vedic scriptures, and the differences between the views of the previous Jagadgurus, to reveal the true path to God-realization for the welfare of all humankind.

With profound admiration, they unanimously acclaimed him as Jagadguru, the Spiritual Master of the world.  They further added that he was "Jagadguruttam" or Supreme amongst all Jagadgurus. Among the various accolades that they showered upon him was "Bhakti-Yog Rasavatar", or the personification of the Bliss of devotion.

After accepting the title of Jagadguru, Kripaluji Maharaj traveled throughout the country for fourteen years. He would deliver month-long discourses in each city, in which he would unravel the mysteries of the scriptures before tens of thousands of people, who would throng the venue for a glimpse of this extraordinary scholar and Saint whose words left them spellbound.

Kripaluji Maharaj has written thousands of inspiring verses revealing the Divine pastimes of Radha Krishna. Shree Maharajji has also revealed a vast wealth of literature for devotees across the world to understand the true philosophy of Divine Love and help them all in path towards God realization.

Shree Maharajji is fifth original Jagadguru in the history of India, and has profoundly influenced the lives of many people around the world with his unmatched mastery of all Vedic scriptures and texts. His divine lectures have inspired lakhs of people on the path of Bhakti for the last 50 years and continue to do so. Shree Maharajji regularly speaks on popular channels in India and abroad. 

Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat is a huge international spiritual organization, with branches in most states of India, and many countries around the world. It has large ashrams at Mangarh, Vrindaban, Barsana, and Texas, USA. These ashrams are vibrant centers of spiritual training and social welfare work.

Jagadguru Kripalu Yog Trust is a sister organization of the Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat and has been established for the dissemination of Spiritual – Vedic and Yogic – Sciences, to enable healthy living at the physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual level. 

Swami Mukundananda, a senior preacher of Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj, is the president of Jagadguru Kripalu Yog Trust.  He completed his B.Tech from IIT Delhi and MBA from IIM Calcutta.   

Though he briefly spent his time in the corporate world at one of India’s top industrial houses, his longing for God was so strong that he renounced his career and began traveling throughout India as a sanyasi.  Ultimately, his search took him to the lotus feet of his Spiritual Master, Jagadguru Shri Kripaluji Maharaj.  He was overawed by the unfathomable scriptural knowledge and ocean of Divine love that he saw manifest in his Gurudev. 

Under the guidance of Jagadguru Shri Kripaluji Maharaj, he practiced intense ‘sadhana’ while residing at the ashram.  He also extensively studied the Vedic scriptures, and the Indian and Western systems of philosophy.  On completion of his studies, his Guru entrusted him with the key task of propagating the ancient knowledge about the Eternal Truth, the world over.   

Ever since he became Maharajji’s disciple and a preacher, Swamiji has traveled far and wide, awakening hundreds of thousands of Seekers. Using perfect logic, and a simple-yet-scientific approach, Swamiji offers new ways of understanding and applying the knowledge of the Scriptures (from the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavatam, Puranas, Bhagavad Geeta, and other Eastern and Western scriptures) in our daily lives. 

He has preached extensively in many states across India as well as different countries across the world. Swami Mukundananda has successfully established a huge network of ‘spiritual centers’ in different cities / towns across each state. 

Swami Mukundananda has now been delivering religious discourses for the last twenty-four years, as a preacher of the Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat. Swami Mukundananda is the co-founder and President of the Jagadguru Kripalu Yog trust. 
 

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROPOSED UNIVERSITY:

1. To train and qualify teachers, in the Sciences of Spirituality, Yoga and Mind management, who can propagate their knowledge to schools, colleges and industrial houses,

At present, everyone realizes the imbalance in the education system, due to lack of spiritual education. 
 

2. Introduction of moral education in all educational institutions. The creation of a qualified class of spiritual teachers will enable the introduction of spiritual education in society.
3. To give the ‘spiritually-minded’ youth a chance to make a career in spirituality, by enabling them to earn a degree, and utilize it for teaching jobs.
4. To enable character building through higher education.
5. To reinforce ethics and morals so that the students may pass these on to the society at large.
6. For the upliftment of the underprivileged segments of society, free education and financial support will be given to 25 percent students from such segments of society.
7. The Proposed University will set a role model for the Universities of the country, in building the moral character of the people.

 

LOCATION FOR THE PROPOSED UNIVERSITY: 

The proposed university will be developed at Banki, near Cuttack, Orissa, in multiple stages. Kripaluji Maharaj has lakhs of followers in Orissa. In the first stage, 110 acres of land has been finalised, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by the Trust and the Govt. of Orissa.

Note: Some of the courses are subject to change. 

RELATED PROJECTS ALONG WITH THE UNIVERSITY:

1. Yoga Therapy and Naturopathy Healthcare Centre.  It will attract outdoor patients from Cuttack, Bhubaneshwar, and also neighbouring villages. Also, indoor patients desirous of benefitting from yoga therapy.
2. Gurukul. Will train children from childhood in the life of purity, charity, austerity, and spiritual knowledge.
3. Yogashram. Yoga shibirs will be conducted for the general public, for members, and for industrial houses.  Such shibirs will be of 3 days duration, one week duration, two weeks duration and four weeks duration.
4. Vridhashram. Devotionally minded people, who are leading a retired life, will be invited to come and stay in a spiritual environment.  They will also be given an opportunity to lend voluntary seva in the above projects, and will form the manpower base for the project.
5. Hospital.  The villagers of the nearby Banara village have demanded a hospital for them.  Such a hospital, equipped with modern facilities will be built, to provide medical aid to everyone residing within 10 kilometers of the ashram.

GENERATION OF FINANCES FOR THE PROJECT:

The Jagadguru Kripalu Yog Trust is a Charitable Trust registered under the Public Trusts Act.  It will rely on donations from its patrons abroad and in India for financing the project. 

1. Life Membership Scheme.  Various categories of Life Members have been created.  The members will give a one time donation, and receive facilities for their kind patronage of the mission:

2. Donations from abroad.  International Preaching tours are currently underway and the active support from patrons abroad is well received and appreciated.

5. Corporate Sponsorship.  Industrial houses will be requested to sponsor individual educational departments of the University.
