NISER deadline for submitting application form is extended till June 15 2007

NISER web site was very slow and then went down for possibly more than a week just around its original deadline for submission of application form.The new deadline to submit application is June 15 2007 and the application form can be obtained from NISER website http://www.iopb.res.in/niser/admission.php or from the Homi Bhabha web site http://www.hbcse.tifr.res.in/nisernest or from here (application form, information brochure). It was a long fight which bring NISER to Bhubaneswar. Now the deciding authority is DAE. They plan for a seperate examination for better selection. Now IISER is taking student from IIT-JEE (Even from 2000 extended list appeared later) and the selection will finish on or before July-9. NISER exam will be in July-29. Selestion will finish by Sept-30.
So how come NISER is going to get good students ? A stupid planning brings only low level student for doing cutting edge science. Then how NISER is going to fight with IISER ?
Ofcourse I am not the authoriy to decide anything and this is my feeling only.

I agree with your concerns. Plus having web pages down for 1-2 weeks before the deadlines is really bad.
