Bhubanswar to be the knowledge capital of Eastern India
July 14th, 2010
Following report in Sambada talks about the meeting that the Odisha delegation had with Mr. Sam Pitroda in Chicago. I personally think the vision mentioned could be raised further. If the Bhubaneswar-Puri area makes the right move with respect to Vedanta University and several other initiatives that we later discussed in Stanford (we called it the Stanford Declaration) then the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Khurda-Puri area has the possibility of becoming the knowledge capital of all of India and not just Eastern India. We will not spell out the details here as we do not want to tip the other states now. But if anyone is genuinely interested in helping in achieving that vision (which if designed properly would also entail all round growth of Odisha) feel free to write me.

I think the title of this article is by mistake put as “Eastern Odisha” instead of “Eastern India”. Although that’s quite clear inside the article but I thought it’s right to highlight the same.
Thanks

With so many national level institutions cutting across all disciplines there was never any doubt that Bhubaneswar will become a hub of higher education in Eastern India. State Government and the intelligentia have made concerted and relentless efforts in the last few years to get Bhubaneswar this status. After Bhubaneswar the focus must shift to other principal cities of Orissa like Berhampur, Sambalpur and Rourkela so that the whole state can attract lot of students from across the country and turn out to be a human resources hub.
