It is really a good news that members of planning board are by and large convinced for a Medical college in undivided KBK which is the need of the hour. There is urgent need to set up a medical college in KBK districts that we are demanding for a long time and it would be best to do it sooner than later..Hopefully they can recommend the suggestions sent by Prof Surabhi Banarjee to set up a medical college in Koraput at the Central University campus.

In my view a central medical Institute at Rayagada will be a big boost for the health sector in this backward region. Rayagada has relatively better communication facility and the district itself is at the bottom in different health indices.
One more Institute which is on the wishlist of the state govt for quite some time is a Tribal University at Phulbani in Kandhamal District. Infact, the demand has been reiterated by this forum several times in the past. If the state Govt. is genuinely interested in bringing these institutes, it must go all after the central govt to make them happen soon.
