Top 25 Indian Universities as per publications – from an article in Current Science

The following table is from a Current science article by G. Prathap and B. M. Gupta. It gives a ranking of top 25 universities in India in term of their publications. The detailed methodology of the ranking is discussed in the above mentioned article. The same authors earlier ranked the engineering and technological institutes which we discussed here.

It is sad and perplexing not to see a single university of Orissa to be a in top 25 list of the country.
Again, FOCUS in some discipline, not embracing several discipline and not being able to to be good at any, is CRITICAL for success.
If an engineering colleges, I will suggest that they better focus one or two areas and be best at them, and be known in the country and the world for these. Have a long term vision, have partnerships with industry and make it a win-win for both.
