Is it going to be a “deemed University” or “University” ? I strongly believe the advt is misleading !! Deemed University is not a University. Both are diffrent.

I vaguely remember that the central govt. now allows deemed universities to skip the use of word “deemed”. (One can google to check onthis.)

    See for example http://www.kiit.org/
Earlier they were forced to use the word “deemed”. Now they don’t use it.

Is there any document for such omission of deemed from their status ?

Till now UGC is considering the Deemed University categary and KIIT is still a deemed one as per UGC.

I think there is still a separate category called deemed university. But the deemed universities are no longer required to use the word “deemed”. I will look for some news on it.

Yes, the word “deeemed” can be dropped. However, such Universities have to add (in fine print) the section of the UGC Act that permits them to announce their University status. Thus, it has to be as follows:

“KIIT UNIVERSITY” (Estd. u/s 3 of UGC Act, 1956)
