The following is from Dharitri. Vedanta University bill was passed more than a year ago. But the honorable Odisha Governor has not signed it yet. He is originally from Congress.

We need to write to the CM, PM and the Governor about it. Watch out this space for a plan of action.

    Chitta babu,
The whole Vedanta issue seems like a quid pro quo by the Congress to move VU out of Odisha. Ideally the State Govt. needs to respond in Kind.
They have to tell the VU guys that mines will not be provided if they move the university outside Odisha.

The game can be played both ways..

I completely agree with the above comment. If we’re giving the mines to them then we have the right to ask for he university as well. They will use our mines for business but set up the university somewhere else is totally ridiculous. The state govt needs to play diplomatic here.

This is a conspiracy against our state and stepmotherly treatment by UPA Govt. The university bill was passed in odisha assembly about one year and the honourabe governerhas not given assent to it whereas the centruian bill was signed by the governer.I think the central govt is trying to pressuerize the governer and using him as aagent of them.So our request to honourabe governer he should respect the constitutional position he held and be neutral. We need education,we want eradiction of poverty from odisha and development of the state.

There are some questions in my mind.
    1. How long our Honorable Governor can hold a bill without acting upon it? Is there any possibility that the bill would get lapsed after certain time?
    2. Is it possible to go through RTI route to know the reason of this delay from Governor’s office?

    What Governer can do –
    1. He can approve it.
    2. He can reject it.
    3. He can send it for President’s consideration.
    4. He can keep it on his table without doing anything for indefinite period of time and it won’t lapse.

A shift in its current location can surely establish the university in the state

It can be established in barrenlands with no vegetation or no cultivation. One such location is Bamra in Jharsuguda District

Anywhere in Odisha is better than not having in Odisha and going to another state.

    @Dilip…
Bamra in Jharsuguda is a land without vegetation and barren!!!

Which area do you belong to?…. BAMRA region supplies vegetables to Rourkela region.
