With smaller town getting approval when the Govt focus is going to shift to Rourkela which needs a govt medical college and a govt. medical. The 2nd largest city of Orissa does not even have a good medical infrastructure for non-SAIL people. The 800-bedded IGH is meant only for SAIL employees. Construction of a govt medical will not only help inhabitants of Rourkela but also people of near by places like Rajgangpur, Biramitrapur, Lahunipara, Sundergarh etc.
