With a vision to be a world class brand name for providing technical manpower needed in industry and academia and a mission to establish world class Centres in Higher Studies and Research, Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) with its headquarters at Rourkela was established in the year 2002 through an act of the Govt. of Orissa.
Today, the University has 110 colleges with around 58,000 students. (www.bput.org for vision, mission, strategy and objectives)
Hardly one can belief the present staff strength unless personally visits BPUT, functioning in Bhubaneswar for all-purpose since its inception.
If this is working out with least possible staff being in the state capital then we can very well think of the fate of other Universities away from the capital.
We need to be more careful about the world watching us, proving us wrong. (www.orissalinks.com/?p=968)
Are we heading towards offering E-Degrees in the state in near future?
Education is never given priority in the state. How can one think of quality education? Are we prepared for its consequences?
We must prove what we project.
It’s finally the people’s voice, which can matter a change, a change which every Odiya dreams of.
