Passengers to Kolkata would now have as many as three Rajdhanis to choose from, with the Railways deciding to extend Bilaspur Rajdhani up to Howrah with immediate effect.
At present, Howrah and Sealdah Rajdhanis connect Delhi to Kolkata.
However, the extension will be on an experimental basis for four months a release issued by Northern Railway said.
The extension would also benefit the people of the steel city of Rourkela, located between Bilaspur and Howrah, as they had been for long demanding a Rajdhani linking to the national capital.

What is the use of this rajdhani?? I have to commute regularly to Bhopal from Howrah.. previously had little option except tarvelling by Shipra Express or worst possible Howrah Bhopal Exp. But when we got this Rajdhani it was a boon for passengers like us. However Howrah Bilaspur Newdelhi Rajdhani’s reservation is often susoended. Even during vacation of durgapuja 2009, the reservation procedure is suspended for this train. In such rush time if one entire train is taken out of the system.. the reservation condition of existing Shipra Exp n Bhopal Exp turns worse. It was a long cherished dream that shaped into reality when Bilaspur NEwdelhi Rajdhani was extended till Howrah. So, i hereby request the concerned authority to look into the matter and commence proper reservation of this train.

Guys..the Bilaspur rajdhani has been cancelled from Nov first week onwards towards Rourkela due to some nasty politics at bilaspur. Now what problem do the people of Bilaspur have..god knows. They cant take this if the rajdhani is extended till Howarh…even if the tiny town of Bilaspur has less or no potential to run rajdhani to its full capacity..got to know that Rourkela chamber of commerce is faighting hard to make the rajdhani express a permamnent train…I wish it happens as Rourkela really deserves a rajdhani train

The Rajdhani express has rightly been canclled beyond Bilaspur.
This Rajdhani was started for the people of Chhattisgarh and it is mainly used by Raipur people. Raipur is atleast 10 times bigger commerial centre if compared with tiny towns like Rourkela
and Raiways cant ignore that fact that Raipur people were not getting reservations once this train was extended till Howrah.
