While people of Parala would be happy to see that finally the long awaited train will start but it is really unfortunate that this particular train (Puri-Palasa) has been chosen for that. The 217 Puri-Palasa passenger leaving Puri at 07.50a.m will arrive at Paralakhemundi at 06.45p.m that means 11 hours for a distance of around 300 kms.

A clear case of neglect towards south Orissa. Like Orissa is neglected by Centre – our State neglects the south and the west of its own land.

Its good that the train started running services after a long gap. I had been to Paralakhemundi last Dec,2010 and witnessed the train. However, The Station at Paralakhemundi needs urget improvement in Passenger facilities, Lighting in Night and minimum amenities. The authorities concerned may kindly think the line as a life line of Progress to the people by linking to Vishakhapatanam at the earliest.
