Incredibly good to see transactions picking pace in the state. Imfa Group’s acquisitions in Indonesia and now Mayfair’s deal (presumably the first hospitality sector based corporate acquisition in Orissa) is a very encouraging trend. It will not be uot of context to note that hotels like Mayfair, which operate on a boutique hotels format, might also want to consider converting some of the palaces of the erst-while royalty. It can be a model of roping in private players to boost hinterland and rural tourism (as most of these palaces are in the interiors and far off areas, like Parlakhemundi).
